SPOKANE Avista's proposed rates dropped down after settlement with IPUC

Avista Utilities' proposed increased rates for electric and natural gas customers was reduced following a settlement with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.

According to a news release, Avista had proposed a 4.6 percent increase for electric rates effective April 1. Under the settlement, those rates would increase 1.9 percent but not until Oct. 1. The settlement also reduced a proposed 7.2 percent increase for natural gas customers to 4.9 percent effective April 1, and another increase of .3 percent on Oct. 1.
