Pullman police seek public input on camera policy

Posted: Thursday, January 5, 2012 12:00 am

Pullman Police Department is requesting input for a video policing policy that will regulate use of cameras installed around town to address violent crimes and neighborhood disorder.

PPD has been awarded $300,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice "Smart Policing Initiative" grant to put cameras at public locations where high frequencies of crime occur. Those locations will be determined through research and analysis from the Washington State Institute for Criminal Justice and WSU Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology.
