Latah County commissioners signed a letter of agreement with the city of Moscow and Rocky Mountain Corrections on Wednesday to set in motion a $15,000 feasibility study on a proposed joint law enforcement center. County and city officials hope the study will identify concrete financing options and assist in deciding a final location for the facility. ... Pullman School District officials will prioritize Pullman High School's maintenance needs since the district can't afford to renovate the school or build a new one in the next few years. A Spokane-based architect told school board members earlier this month that it will cost more than $55 million to renovate or replace the school.

If the latest round of budget-cutting rhetoric materializes, Washington State University will have to eliminate as many as 400 jobs and expects to lose up to 700 students. That was part of the message from WSU President Sam Smith on Friday as he outlined the impact of Gov. Mike Lowry's proposed 1993-95 budget.
