Mikacia Bartosz of Genesee was named the Distinguished Young Woman of Genesee on Saturday and was awarded $2,325 in scholarships during the local Distinguished Young Women program, held in Genesee High School's multipurpose room. Regan Zenner of Genesee was selected as first alternate and was awarded $1,900 in scholarships.

Bartosz won $250 in scholarships as interview runner-up and as self-expression runner-up. Bartosz also received a $150 scholarship as runner-up in the talent category, and a $375 scholarship as the overall fitness winner. Bartosz was awarded $1,300 as Distinguished Young Woman of Genesee.

Zenner received $450 scholarships in the interview and scholastic categories, and received $1,000 as first alternate. Emerson Parkins of Genesee won the $400 spirit award, as well as a $450 scholarship as self-expression winner and a $175 scholarship as fitness runner-up. Molly Hanson of Genesee received a $350 scholarship for winning the talent category, and recieved $450 in the scholastic category. Kyra Scharnhorst recieved a $450 scholarship for the scholastic category.

Bartosz is the daughter of Joe and Andrea Bartosz, and Zenner is the daughter of Harlan and Marnie Zenner. All the participants are juniors at GHS.
