The Whitman County Library and the Community Action Center are offering energy assistance through the Low Income Energy Assistance Program to Whitman County residents. Representatives for the Community Action Center will be available to meet with interested community members from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday at the Uniontown Library, 110 S. Montgomery St.

The program offers a one-time payment to help residents pay their energy bills by paying a portion of the cost. The payment is not intended to cover yearly costs of a resident.

For residents to qualify, they must provide social security cards of everyone in the household, photo identifications for all adults, proof of income for previous three months, current energy bill and proof of college financial aid or child support payments if applicable.

For information, visit or call (509) 229-3880.
