Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine will host its annual open house 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday on WSU's campus in Pullman.

CVM's Canine Club will begin the day's events with the 5K Canine Canter, a fun run for dogs and their owners. Registration and check-in will be 7-7:50 a.m. at McGee Park. Same-day registration is $20. Other activities start at 10 a.m. and include teddy bear surgery, tours of the hospital, a painted horse, face painting, children's crafts and games, a photo booth and an appearance by WSU's mascot, Butch T. Cougar.

Children who intend to participate in the teddy bear surgery should bring their own stuffed animal.
