More than 100 teachers, parents and community members packed the regular meeting of the Pullman School Board, where teachers presented a resolution of no confidence in the administration in light of recent rumors of strife in the school district. Tiffany Moler, art teacher at Sunnyside Elementary School, said 79 percent of teachers in the PEA agreed with the vote of no confidence. … Latah County Sheriff Richie Skiles says identity theft and phone scams are likely some of the most popular crimes in the county. He said one of the more common ones is a telephone scam informing people they have a warrant and, if the individual does not send money, they will be arrested.

Jim Risch and Mike Crapo, and Rep. Raul Labrador, all Idaho Republicans, helped introduce Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul to GOP delegates after dinner at the Kibbie Dome. Republicans “need to go places we’ve never gone before,” Paul told the audience of more than 400 people.

More than $1.3 million in federal stimulus money will be infused into Latah County public schools over the next two years. Whitman County schools also will receive stimulus money but are still waiting to hear from the state exactly how much they’ll receive. ... A fire caused by downed power lines closed U.S. Highway 195 south of Colfax. Colfax Fire Chief Ralph Walter said the fire was caused by a transformer malfunction. The fire consumed the pole the transformer was mounted on, Walter said.

The lack of evidence at the crime scene leads investigators to believe whoever did the cutting is knowledgeable about canola. … Vendors of international handmade goods will be allowed into the Moscow Farmers Market under amended guidelines announced at a Moscow Arts Commission meeting. The vendors were only allowed to sell their items on the last Saturday of every month during a designated International Day.
