Bovill residents recalled their mayor Tuesday, according to Latah County Election’s unofficial results. 56.8 percent, or 50 residents, voted to recall Samuel Walker and 43.2 percent, or 38 residents, voted against recalling him.
A petitioners’ statement said the recall “is based on a pattern of unprofessional behavior unbefitting his office.” Walker’s statement said the accusations against him “are unfounded and misrepresented.”
Walker served as mayor for about one year after replacing Mayor Mike Porter, who resigned from his duties after three months on the job. Walker previously served as city council president.
