A 55-year-old Elk River man died after crashing a logging truck Monday afternoon on State Highway 6 near Harvard.
According to an Idaho State Police news release, John Rivers was driving a 2013 Western Star logging truck with a trailer when it appeared he experienced a medical emergency and drove off the north shoulder of the road at milepost 9 on Highway 6.
ISP responded to the fatal crash at about 1:19 p.m.
Rivers was pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was restricted to one lane for roughly three hours. It is unknown whether Rivers was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash is under investigation.
