According to Operations Commander Aaron Breshears, Hawkes was allegedly driving a semi hauling two trailers when he crashed into a stoplight at Main and Kamiaken streets. He added Hawkes drove away without alerting authorities of damages.

Breshears said Hawkes has been charged with a misdemeanor hit-and-run.

City crews worked to fix the downed light the evening of the crash. Temporary traffic control measures were put in place, and Breshears said the stoplight was fixed later that evening.
