Stefanie Lynnette Blackburn, 21, died Jan. 3, 2010, in Moscow.
She was born November 21, 1988, in Lewiston, Idaho, to John and JoAnn Blackburn of St. Maries.
She is survived by her parents, two brothers, Wesley Hardin Blackburn of Boise; Joseph John Blackburn of St. Maries, as well as an uncle, Fred Picavet and his wife, Alex, of San Francisco, Calif.; an aunt, Sharron Williams of Clarkston, Wash.; an aunt, Susan Chapman of Portland, Ore., and several cousins.
The Blackburn family moved to St. Maries nine years ago when Stefanie was 12.
She attended Kootenai High School where she excelled on the basketball and track teams, was a lifeguard at the Saint Maries pool during the summer and then graduated in 2007.
Stefanie then attended Boise State University where she had been studying to become a nutritionist.
Stefanie loved life, the outdoors and all it had to offer. She was an avid jogger and passionate about camping, hiking, fishing, hunting and ice climbing. All of which she enjoyed most with her family and dear friends.
Stefanie's life may have been brief, but she has left an everlasting aura of beauty, love and kindness, lingering around all she knew.
It's too difficult to say goodbye, so instead, we blow you a kiss as you return to the beautiful heavens from which you came and await the time when we can all rejoice and be together again ... FOREVER.
A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday January 9, 2010 at the Elks Lodge, 628 Main St. in St. Maries.
The family will receive guests throughout the day beginning at 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Maries food bank.
Arrangements in Moscow were entrusted to Short's Funeral Chapel, and online condolences may be left at www.shortsfuneralchapel.net.
