Despite any difference in our religious beliefs or political views, we can all agree that we need to take care of our veterans in a better way as Americans.
These men and women served our country with honor and bravery but they are not always treated with the grace they deserve.
The U.S. chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, founded in 1939, will be visiting Veterans Affairs hospitals under their Muslims for Veterans initiative.
AMYA members have also collected $25,000 in donations through Operation Homefront. The foundation of this initiative is in one of the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him); he said: “love for one’s country is part of one’s faith.”
As the AMYA members visit our veterans and collect donations to reach their goal of $100,000 I hope we can set aside our differences and work towards making the lives of our veterans better at home. May God bless our veterans; may God bless the United States of America.
