A year ago, Denzal Brantley was a highly touted member of the "three-headed monster" in the Vandal backfield, along with fellow tailbacks Isaiah Saunders and Aaron Duckworth. But with his teammates receiving the bulk of the carries, Brantley saw a reduced role and struggled to leave his mark on the Idaho run game.

With the sophomore itching for an opportunity to take the field, head coach Paul Petrino came to Brantley in the spring with an unusual request, asking the young athlete to make the switch to defensive back.

The sophomore immediately accepted the challenge and now feels like he's found a new home with the Vandal secondary.
