Wilma Keehr-Mercer Howell, of Lewiston, will mark her 85th birthday Thursday. She celebrated her birthday in with friends and family in July.
She was born Aug. 22, 1939, in Stites to Raymond and Edna (Dinwiddie) Keehr.
Her family lived in Kamiah and Chattaroy, Wash., and she graduated in 1958 from Riverside High School in Chattaroy.
She and Philip Zaversnik were married Oct. 5, 1960, in Rock Springs, Wyo. They were later divorced.
After working many years for the Lewiston Tribune, she retired from there in 2001.
She and N. David Howell were married June 3, 1989, in Lewiston. They spent many wonderful years together until his death in 2018.
Her current residence is Royal Plaza Retirement Community in Lewiston. She enjoys weekly games of bridge with her friends and all activities offered at Royal Plaza. She especially enjoys watching Gonzaga University basketball games on television with friends while enjoying a glass of wine.
She has one daughter, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
