Gritman Massage Therapy named Center of Excellence
Gritman Massage Therapy has been named a Center of Excellence by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. The program is the only hospital-based massage service in Idaho and offers services to individuals who have been admitted to Gritman's Family Birth Center, Medical Surgical Unit or Critical Care Unit.
Gritman Massage Therapy achieved the NCBTMB Center of Excellence distinction in November by hiring only nationally certified massage therapists and bodyworkers.
Gritman Massage Therapy employs five massage therapists. Along with its in-patent program, Gritman Massage Therapy provides outpatient services including therapeutic massage, pregnancy massage, orthopedic and sports massage, massage therapy for people dealing with chronic pain and illness, hospice massage and on-site chair massage.
Gritman Massage Therapy is located at 810 S. Main St., Moscow, in the Therapy Solutions building south of the main hospital entrance.
The Palouse PCEI names new board of directors
At the Annual Membership Meeting and Holiday Party on Dec. 10 at the 1912 Center in Moscow, the Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute welcomed a new board of directors.
Outgoing board members who served three-year terms were John Thielbahr (board president), Renee McNally (board vice president), Tenley Burke (board secretary) and Andrew Ackerman.
New PCEI board members elected were Steve Shook, associate professor of marketing, college of business and economics, University of Idaho; Allyson Beall, teaching associate, Washington State University, Carrie Lee, employee at TerraGraphics Environmental Engineering Inc. and Kristin LeVier, artist and woodworker. Remaining PCEI board members are Paige Buehler (board treasurer), full-time mom; Emmi Blades, UI Law School student; Mary Jo Knowles, Moscow rental property owner and ski instructor; John Lawrence, UI professor of business; and Cindi Jette, Moscow's Fair and Affordable Housing Commission member.
