The Palouse is celebrating Global Entrepreneur Week with a variety of events showcasing local businesses and innovative ideas.
The Palouse Discover Science Center in Pullman is hosting "Innovations on the Palouse," a family-friendly event that showcases innovations from local students and entrepreneurs, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. today.
Professionals in the agriculture industry will take part of an hour-long discussion called "Startup Stories: Innovations in Ag Tech" from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Washington State University's Carson College of Business. Jenn Smithyman from Ste. Michelle Wine Estates; Derick Juwan of Semplice; and Amit Dhingra of Phytelligence will present. It will be followed by an hour of networking and appetizers.
The Palouse Knowledge Corridor will host its "Fall Business Showcase" 2-5 p.m. Tuesday at Moscow's Fairfield Inn and Suites. The public can hear presentations from businesses all over the region. The Southeast Washington Economic Development Association has organized its own business showcase event in Colfax, which will feature Pavlo Rudenko, founder of Colfax-based TriboTEX. That event takes place 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at The Center on 102 S. Main St.
