Freezing temperatures are expected to make a brief return tonight in much of north central Idaho and southeastern Washington, according to the National Weather Service at Spokane.

A freeze warning was issued Tuesday by the weather service. The below-freezing temperatures are expected to arrive at 10 p.m. Tuesday and linger until 9 a.m. Wednesday. Sensitive vegetation could be damaged and action should be taken to protect those plants, according to the NWS.

Temperatures could get as low as 28.

The freeze warning covers the Lewiston area, and parts of Asotin and Garfield counties. The weather service mentioned Lapwai, Alpowa Summit, Peck, the Lewiston Grade, Clarkston, Culdesac, Lewiston, Gifford and Pomeroy being in the affected area.
