The Moscow School District could soon join its counterparts in the Quad Cities by proffering a high school construction bond for its patrons to consider. Official bond planning is not yet underway, but district officials have started discussions. ... The Pullman Police Department is seeking public input on a draft all-terrain vehicles ordinance to be considered at a future Pullman City Council meeting. The ordinance would limit operation of ATVs to city streets with a speed limit of 35 mph or less, require operators and passengers to wear motorcycle helmets and require ATVs to be registered and comply with certain requirements.

Washington State University President Elson S. Floyd announced Tuesday Mike Trevisan will be the interim dean for the College of Education. Trevisan has served as associate dean for research and external funding for the college for the past two years. ... The Idaho Transportation Department is ready to review about 350 forms of written and oral comments made regarding a draft environmental impact statement for the U.S. Highway 95 Thorncreek Road to Moscow project. ITD Project Manager Ken Helm said comments related to three options for realigning the 6.5-mile stretch of dangerous highway.

About 300 acres of pristine forest land on Moscow Mountain will remain under Latah County's management after the county signed a 10-year lease extension with Idaho Department of Lands earlier this week. The county will pay approximately $5,300 for the first year of the lease. ... Pullman Regional Hospital administrators anticipated a 20-percent growth rate when the hospital was designed. Four years after the hospital went into service, expansion may be needed to accommodate a 25-percent growth rate, much of which is due to an unforeseen need.

Flyers urging consumers to boycott Walmart were distributed Monday at the store's parking lot in Moscow and similar action is being taken today in Lewiston. The flyer is headlined: "Children used and beaten when producing Walmart merchandise." ... A $2.7 million construction project at Washington State University's Buckley dairy research facility is expected to gain routine approval from the WSU Board of Regents Friday. The construction contract includes tearing down substandard buildings and building a new milking center and a new maternity and forage research lab.
