The Moscow Food Co-op will host a Produce Safety Alliance Training from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the University of Idaho Agricultural Sciences Building, Room 62.

The training provides the only curriculum approved to prepare fresh produce growers to meet the regulatory requirements in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule.

The eight-hour training course will cover areas and requirements of the Produce Safety Rule, including introduction to produce safety, worker health, hygiene and training, soil amendments, wildlife, domesticated animals and land use, agricultural water, postharvest handling and sanitation and how to develop a farm food safety plan.

Lunch, refreshments, course materials and certificates are included with registration.
