The Moscow community will recognize Disability Day of Mourning from 11 a.m.-noon Saturday at Friendship Square. The vigil is being held in remembrance of people with disabilities who have been murdered by a family member or caregiver.

The Rev. Elizabeth Stevens of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse will emcee the event, which will include a moment of silence, a reading of names of those murdered, a song and several speakers, including Mark Leeper of Disability Action Center and Jennifer Magelsky-Seiler from the Moscow chapter of the Self Advocate Leadership Network.

This will be Moscow's first vigil held in honor of Disability Day of Mourning.
