Fishing Derby — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Busch Distributing/Coleman Oil, 7601 Highway 270, just west of Moscow. Organized by the Moose lodges of Moscow and Pullman. For youth 14 and younger at a manmade pond. Limited number of fishing poles and additional equipment provided.

Palouse Family Fair Walk & Stroll — 1-4 p.m., Pullman City Playfields. The Palouse Alliance will host this free family event focused on health and inclusion, with emphasis on the resources and support offered to families in Moscow and Pullman.

Vintage Quilt Show —10 a.m.-4 p.m., Pullman Depot Heritage Center, Pullman. Pullman mayor Francis Benjamin will speak about his mother’s quilts at 10 a.m. Quilts and comforters on display are on loan from area residents and normally unavailable for public viewing. General admission $5 per person, $3 for Whitman County Historical Society members.

Pizza Box Recycling — noon to 4 p.m., Ruby Street Park, 605 NE Colorado St., Pullman. Several organizations will be collecting used pizza boxes to be converted to biochar, a safe and sustainable soil amendment that helps to combat climate change.

Visual Arts Awards — 2 p.m., Neill Public Library, Pullman. An awards ceremony and reception for the League of Women Voters of Pullman and Whitman County third annual Visual Arts Competition. See 53 pieces of artwork by young artists showing why voting matters.

Moscow DYW Program — 7 p.m., Moscow High School. Nine high school juniors will vie for $15,000 in scholarships and the title of 2025 Distinguished Young Woman of Moscow. Doors open at 6 p.m. and admission is $10 per person. Children 3 and younger are free.

Spring Craft Fair — 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Palouse Community Center, Palouse. All ages welcome. Homemade, handmade and vintage items. Lunch served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Earth Day with Adam Savage — 1:30 p.m., Beasley Coliseum, Washington State University, Pullman. Co-host of “Mythbusters” to join Earth Day celebration featuring sustainable organizations and business from across the area. Games and giveaways. Savage will take stage at 3 p.m. Free.

Monday

“Common Ground” — 7 p.m. Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre, Moscow. Regenerative agriculture is the focus a film documentary brought to Moscow by the Moscow Food Co-op and Palouse Land Trust. Free. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Earth Day “Teach-In” — 4 p.m. University of Idaho Library, Moscow. Sunrise Movement organizers from the Palouse are calling on Moscow City Council to support a climate emergency declaration.

Poetry Appreciation — 5:30-7 p.m. Brelsford Visitor Center and Brused Books, downtown Pullman. Poet and Washington State University professor Linda Russo will lead a downtown poetry walk, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Brelsford Center. The event will end at Brused Books for poetry reading and reception for Russo’s new book, “the verdant.” Free.
