UI president signing copies of book at VandalStore
University of Idaho President Scott Green will be signing copies of the book he co-authored with Temple Kinyon called “University President’s Crisis Handbook,” at noon today at the VandalStore in Moscow.
According to a UI news release, the book is about Green leading the UI through budget deficits, the COVID-19 pandemic and the Nov. 13, 2022 murders of four UI students.
Green shares how the university achieved financial solvency, set records for enrollment, research awards and fundraising and continues to support a community that is still healing.
The book is available at the VandalStore and at booksellers nationwide. Proceeds from the book will support the Vandal Healing Garden and Memorial.
Clearwater Fly Casters meeting to discuss fishing in small streams
The December Clearwater Fly Casters meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Best Western Plus University Inn, 1516 W. Pullman Road, Moscow. A buffet dinner is available for $21 and will start at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation will start at 7:30 p.m. The presentation will be given by Dan Mottern, owner of Fly Fishing Company. Mottern started Fly Fishing Company in Avery, Idaho, in 2007.
The presentation will discuss how to fish in the small streams around the St. Joe River. Mottern is an instructor in wood science with a degrees in wood products from the University of Idaho. The presentation is open to anyone interested in fly fishing. RSVP by calling (509) 330-0205.
Moscow Elks announces 2024 Hoop Shoot
The Moscow Elks Lodge #249 will have the 2024 local Hoop Shoot on Jan. 6 at the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center, 1724 E. F St., in Moscow. The free throw contest is open to all children ages 8-13. Participants will be placed in age groups based on their age as of April 1, 2024. Winners will advance to districts in Lewiston.
