College night planned in Moscow

Palouse Pathways will have the 2023 Path to College night from 7-8:30 p.m., Aug. 23, at the 1912 Center, 412 E. Third St., Moscow. The event is open to students in ninth and 10th grade and their families to discuss college preparations. To reserve a spot visit palousepathways.org.

There will be a panel of teachers from Genesee, Moscow, Pullman, Colton and Palouse to discuss staying organized, choosing clubs and classes and making friends. Parents can learn about paying for college, helping the students plan and find schools. There will be free pizza and drinks available. A drawing for two $50 WinCo gift cards will be held for the first 40 families to attend.

National Lentil Festival seeking volunteers

The Pullman Chamber of Commerce is still accepting volunteers for the 2023 National Lentil Festival on Aug. 19. Volunteers are needed for chili serving, merchandise booth, volunteer check in and back of house organizing, parking and the green team.

Historical society announces recipe challenge for fair

The Latah County Historical Society has announced the third annual Historic Recipe Challenge for the Latah County Fair. The recipe is for a cream cake from the 1924 Women’s Civic Improvement Club of Bovill cookbook. There will be first and second place prizes for both adults and children’s categories and the judging will be done by historical society staff and board members.
