Assistant coordinator sought for nature camp
The Friends of Phillips Farms has opened applications for an assistant camp coordinator to work three sessions of the Nature Day Camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 10-14, June 17-21 and June 24-28. The assistant coordinator will assist in developing activities for children in grades 1-5. The camp goals are to help children gain an appreciation for nature through hiking, exploring pond animals and interactive learning. Fur Ball fundrasier set for Saturday
The Whitman County Humane Society will have its 16th annual Fur Ball and Yappy Hour at 5 p.m. Saturday at the SEL Event Center, 1825 Schweitzer Drive, Pullman. Tickets are available online at whitmanpets.org/furball2024 and cost $100 for a single ticket or $800 for a table of eight. All tickets come with a four-course catered meal and one drink ticket
Attendees are encouraged to dress as a pirate as part of the theme. There will be a live and silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the humane society for the next year.
WSU association to have speaker from bread lab
The Washington State University Retirees Association will have a presentation by Stephen Jones of the WSU Bread Lab to discuss the lab’s work at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at the WSU Lewis Alumni Center and via Zoom. Registration is requested and can be done online at bit.ly/3wr03Os. A zoom link will be provided in the confirmation email. Parking is available in the half-circle parking lot for the center.
