Conservation districts annual meetings planned

The Palouse Conservation District’s annual meeting is scheduled from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Pavilion at Round Top, 1260 Palouse Ridge Drive, Pullman. To register for the meeting visit palousecd.org/post/annual-meeting-01-23-24. Dinner will be provided and door prizes will be raffled throughout the evening. During the meeting, attendees can hear the conservation highlights from 2023 and goals for 2024. Information about district programs and services will be available.

Additionally, a 2024 joint conservation district meeting is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds in Colfax. To register for the meeting visit palousecd.org. The meeting will have Pine Creek, Rock Lake, Whitman and Palouse conservation districts together to discuss funding opportunities and programs.

Moscow League of Women Voters to gather Wednesday

The Moscow League of Women Voters are hosting a talk on the new Idaho Behavioral Health Program from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday via Zoom. The Zoom link is available online at bit.ly/LWVMspeakers.

The talk will be given by Christina Ward, program manager for Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Clinical and Quality Care, and by Monica Martin, program manager for Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Assistive Community Treatment.

Ward and Martin will discuss the state’s $1.2 billion contract with Magellan Health to manage the deliver behavioral health and substance abuse treatment.

MLK Human Rights Breakfast planned this morning

The Martin Luther King Human Rights Breakfast is planned for 9:30 a.m. today at the Moscow 1912 Center Great Room. In-person attendance is full, but others can watch a livestream of the event on Zoom via a link at humanrightslatah.org.

The winners of the Rosa Parks Human Rights Achievement Awards will be announced during the breakfast.
