MOSCOW

The 26th annual Martin Luther King Human Rights Community Breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Multi-Purpose Room at Moscow Middle School, 1410 E. D St., Moscow.

This year's keynote address, "From Civil Rights to Human Rights," will be presented by Dr. Shirley Jackson, professor and chair of black studies at Portland State University.

The breakfast will also include a presentation by Mayor Bill Lambert of the Rosa Parks Human Rights Achievement Awards, which honors community members and students who have made contributions to the cause of human rights, equality and justice.

The mayor will also announce the winners of the Martin Luther King Jr. Art and Essay Contest.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and children. Tickets are available at Paradise Ridge C.D.'s and Tapes, 117 E. Third St., and Book People of Moscow, 521 S. Main St.

All proceeds from the community breakfast will be used for educational human rights programs for Latah County schools and communities.
