A 23-year-old Pullman man was found guilty of third-degree rape Monday in Whitman County Superior Court.
In addition to the rape charge, Antonio Abonza pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal trespass.
According to court documents, Abonza had sex with a woman at her Pullman apartment April 14 after she told him "No." He was arrested for trespassing May 2 after going the woman's residence uninvited and hiding in a bathroom, where he was found by the woman's roommate.
He also has prior convictions for making a false statement to a public servant and driving under the influence.
His sentencing is scheduled for Friday. Third-degree rape carries a sentence of between six to 12 months in jail, while trespassing carries up to a year in jail.
