A woman, who Moscow Volunteer Fire Department personnel found unresponsive this morning inside a residence on fire on the 1000 block of Camas Street, died at Gritman Medical Center from her injuries, according to a city of Moscow news release.

The Moscow Police Department and the MVFD responded to the residential fire about 10 a.m. where they found heavy smoke coming from the residence, the release said.

Fire personnel discovered the unresponsive woman with suspected smoke inhalation on a living room couch, according to the release.

The woman was transported to Gritman Medical Center where she later died from her injuries, the release said. The fire is under investigation with a collaborative effort by the MVFD, the MPD and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Three dogs were rescued from the residence. The dogs were uninjured in the blaze.

Moscow Police Cpt. Roger Lanier said the woman's name has not been released.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
