WATCHING THE ZONE BETWEEN NORTH AND SOUTH KOREA: Gordon Gourley of Moscow is pictured at the 1st Corps Compound near Uijongbu, Korea, in 1955, just north of Seoul. Gourley was an Army clerk for the 301st Communications and Reconnaissance Battalion, which was headquartered at the compound. The 301st kept watch along the Demilitarized Zone that separated North and South Korea.
