The city of Pullman has received a WellCity Honor Award from the Association of Washington Cities. This is the 19th consecutive time the city of Pullman has received the award, which comes with a discount on medical premiums for the city. The Association of Washington Cities is a private nonprofit organization which provides legislative representation, educational training, technical assistance, municipal liability insurance, health insurance and other services. ... Hundreds of community members did not let a cold, foggy morning stop them from showing up to support the Latah Recovery Center’s biggest fundraiser of the year. The nonprofit held a fundraising breakfast at the Best Western Plus University Inn in Moscow where speakers highlighted its effect on addressing substance abuse and mental health problems in the community.

Possibly dog-napped and nearly 80 miles from home, Ruger, a 1-year-old border collie, was returned to his family after going missing for the better part of two weeks. When Juliaetta residents Jimmy and Jessi Guinn picked up their dog from the Benewah County Humane Society, Jessi said the little family had to drive for nearly three hours through a snowstorm. From there, she said, it was straight to a barbecue restaurant to buy Ruger a pulled pork sandwich. ... The water supply problem in Harvard appears to be resolved after crews determined corrosion in pipes partially blocked water flow and prevented the water storage tank from filling adequately, said Latah County Disaster Services Coordinator Mike Neelon. Latah County commissioners signed an emergency declaration Monday for the Hoodoo Water and Sewer District. Neelon said residents were allowed to continue to use the water and that it was healthy to drink during the time of the issue.

Catch him in the production of “Les Miserables,” listen to his weekly podcast about video games or, on occasion, find him playing the guitar for his students at Genesee School. Barham, 31, is what some may consider a tech guy — that is just who he is and always has been. He remembers his grandpa bringing home a Nintendo Entertainment System from an auction at Lumberjack Days in Orofino when he was a child. ... Temperatures in the 20s and occasional frosty blasts of wind caused many people to watch Moscow’s Mardi Gras Parade through the front windows of businesses along Main Street. However, there were plenty of others on the sidewalk braving the elements. Some already were warmed up after a hearty breakfast at the Masonic Lodge. Others tightly held cups of white hot chocolate to keep their hands from going numb. Several booths offered family oriented items and activities.
