The building will replace WSU’s Green 3 parking lot, which will permanently close Monday.

The $80 million project was funded by $40 million in private donated funds and $40 million provided by the Washington State Legislature.

Local philanthropists Beatriz and Ed Schweitzer contributed $20 million, which made up a significant portion of donated funds.

When constructed, the facility will serve as a student success building, meeting the needs of nearly 5,000 students in the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture.
