Today’s hearing to discuss the issue of cameras in Latah County District Court during Bryan Kohberger’s court appearances has been postponed.
A coalition of media outlets represented by attorney Wendy Olson is challenging Kohberger’s request to remove cameras from the courtroom, and asked for more time to prepare a response. The Lewiston Tribune and Daily News is part of that coalition.
In a recent court filing signed by Kohberger’s attorney Jay Logsdon, he argued the camera’s focus on Kohberger impedes his right to a fair trial.
Logsdon said the media was directed by the court to cease focusing exclusively on Kohberger and have failed to do so. He argued this creates a prejudice against his client.
Latah County District Judge John Judge will preside over a scheduling conference today to set a future hearing.
