Whitman County Rural Library district branches in Colton and Uniontown will be having a pet care drive through August as a follow-up to its summer reading program. All supplies collected will be donated to the Whitman County Humane Society.
Both library branches will make dog and cat blankets at 6 p.m. today at the Uniontown library, 110 S. Montgomery St., in Uniontown. The Colton library will make blankets at 6 p.m. Thursday at 706 Broadway St. in Colton. All blankets will be donated to the humane society.
The Whitman County Humane Society has a list of suggested donations online at whitmanpets.org/in-kind-doantions.html. The donation list is not specific to the drive and includes canned cat and kitten food, kitten milk replacement, kitty litter, laundry detergent, paper towels and more. A full list is also available at the post office in both Colton and Uniontown.
Donations can be dropped off at either branch during regular hours: from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays and 2:30-6:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Colton Library; and from 2-6 p.m. Wednesdays, and 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fridays in Uniontown.
