UI prof to share costume collection details
Sonya Meyer, a professor in textiles, apparel and design at the University of Idaho, will be the guest presenter at the Palouse Patchers club meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the 1912 Center, 412 E. Third St., Moscow. There will also be a Facebook Live presentation of the event on the Palouse Patchers Facebook page.
Meyer will speak about the Leila Old Historic Costume Collection at the UI Margaret Ritchie School of Family and Consumer Science. Meyer is the curator of the collection.
The program will provide a peak at selected pieces of the close to 10,000-item collection. Meyer will also share conservation and preservation policies and techniques utilized for the collection.

Pullman Rotary Club opens grant applications
Pullman Rotary Club has opened applications for community grants until March 29. Applications are available online at pullmanrotary.org by clicking “2024 Irving M. Field Grand Project Application” from the right menu. Grants are open to charitable organizations, schools, city government or individuals and can be up to $1,500.
Previous projects have included furnishing a room at the Palouse Discovery Science Center, team uniforms for the YMCA Special Olympics athletes and a shed and gardening tools for the Pullman Council on Aging.
Auditions for production of ‘Oklahoma’ announced
The Troy Community Theatre has announced auditions for the summer productions of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma” from 5-9 p.m. March 22 at the Troy Elementary School Multipurpose Room, 101 Trojan Drive, Troy. Participants should prepare a two-minute song showing a range of emotions and an optional one-minute monologue. Registration for auditions are available online at troycommunitythreatre.com.
Mover callbacks are from 6-7 p.m. March 29 and dancer callbacks are from 7-9 p.m. March 29. Auditions are open to anyone age 10 and older. Rehearsals are scheduled from June 17 to July 23 and performances are from July 24-27 at the Troy City Park Gazebo.
