Moscow Elks Lodge donates to Elks Rehab

The Moscow Elks Lodge recently donated $800 to the Idaho Elks Rehab, a physical rehabilitation network which supports care centers and researchers throughout Idaho. Rehab centers on the Palouse in need of financial assistance can call the lodge at (208) 882-2557.

Craft fair set for Saturday in Palouse

A fall and holiday craft fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Palouse Community Center at 220 E. Main St, Palouse.

The fair will include homemade, handmade and vintage items. All ages are welcome.

Christian Science practitioner to visit Pullman

Christian Science practitioner and speaker Lisa Troseth will give a talk, “Moving past fear to healing,” at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the View Room of the Gladish Community Center, 115 NW State St., Pullman. Troseth will discuss the healing precepts found in the Bible and the life of Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science. The talk is free and open to the public.

Nez Perce artist to give weaving demonstration

Gia Paul, a Nez Perce artist and educator, will give a presentation at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Appaloosa Museum and Heritage Center at 2720 W. Pullman Road, Moscow.

Paul will give a demonstration of weaving tule reeds. Author Christy Wood will share from her work, “Hoofprints Across Time: A Trail Ride to Remember,” and will be signing copies of her book.

Colfax exhibit features civic-minded work from students

The Pullman League of Women Voters will have the final exhibition of the 2023 Visual Arts Competition from Wednesday through Nov. 17 at the Center, at 102 S. Main St., Colfax. The exhibit will be open during the library’s business hours, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 1-5 p.m. Saturday.

The exhibit features the 40 submissions from Whitman County students in third through 12th grade. The art reflects the theme of “Civics and the Natural World. How does this connection affect you?” The league’s next visual arts competition will launch in February.

Libraries announce hour changes for Friday

The Moscow Public Library will open at noon Friday for a staff training event. The Potlatch Public Library will be closed all of Friday. For more information and visit latahlibrary.org.
