Vitalant blood drives planned across Palouse

Blood drives from Vitalant will be planned across the Palouse in February. Donors will receive a mini physical including pulse, blood pressure and cholesterol level. To make appointments visit vitalant.org, use the vitalant app or call (877) 258-4825.

In Pullman, drives are scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Washington State University, 300 NE Troy Lane, with an online code of G1557 and from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Pullman McDonald’s, 1620 Grand Ave., with code G7005.

In Moscow, an event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the Best Western University Inn, 1516 W. Pullman Road, Moscow, with code G0007. A full list is available at vitalant.org.

SEL CEO will speak at chamber luncheon

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories CEO Dave Whitehead will speak at the Pullman Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center February general membership luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the SEL Event Center, 1825 Schweitzer Drive, Pullman.

Reservations for the event are required by noon Friday and can be made on the Pullman Chamber website or by calling (509) 334-3565. The cost is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers.

Palouse Land Trust plans business breakfast for Feb. 16

The Palouse Land Trust will have its second annual business breakfast from 8-9:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center, 411 S. Main St., Moscow. Nesting birds the focus of presentation in Pullman

The Palouse Audubon Society will start a series of presentations at 7 p.m. Feb. 15 in Room 100A-B in the Pullman City Hall Building, 190 SE Crestview, Pullman. The Feb. 15 presentation is free and open to the public as well as Audubon members. Jennifer Phillips, an assistant professor at Washington State University, will discuss how noise and light-filled nights affect nesting.
