Uniontown Sausage Feed planned for March 3
The annual Uniontown Sausage Feed is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 3 at the Uniontown Community Building. The meal includes a three-fourth pound of sausage, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, green beans, applesauce, roll and choice of pie. Each meal costs $15 and can be purchased online at uniontowncommunitybuilding.net or the day of the event with cash or check. All online sales are guaranteed a meal.
The drive-through line will start at the Uniontown Coop on the north end of Uniontown on U.S. Highway 195. Signs will be posted to the community center. The 2024 feed is the 70th anniversary of the tradition. The feed will be a curbside pickup only again as new volunteers are trained.
20th annual benefit bowling tournament set for March 16
The 20th annual Benefit Bowling Tournament for the Whitman County Humane Society and NW Cancer Foundation of Hope is scheduled for March 16 at 780 SE Bishop Blvd., Pullman. Day-of signups will start at 10 a.m. with the tournament starting at 11 a.m. The tournament features six games in the Scotch style.

UI receives gold rating for sustainability achievements
The University of Idaho received a gold rating for sustainability achievements from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. The university has participated in the program since 2019 and this is the first time the school has received a gold rating.
The UI is the only higher education institution in Idaho to receive the gold rating which is one below platinum, the highest rating. The office of sustainability was established in 2023 as part of the President’s Office as part of its gold rating effort. The University of Idaho is a certified bee campus through the Xerces Society and a tree campus through the Arbor Day Foundation.
The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System has more than 900 participants in 40 countries. Participants track achievements in academics, engagement, operations, planning and administration as well as innovation and leadership. For more information about the program visit stars.aashe.org.
