Police in Moscow arrested a 32-year-old Oregon male who fled from Latah County Sheriff’s Deputies on Thursday at vehicle speeds of more than 100 mph.

According to Latah County Sheriff Richie Skiles, Jonny Roberts was passing vehicles at extremely high rates of speed around noon on U.S. Highway 95 near Viola when deputies tried to stop him.

Roberts allegedly did not stop and continued driving into Moscow going well over 100 mph. Deputies stopped their pursuit when the vehicle entered the University of Idaho campus.

University students told deputies where the vehicle stopped and which way Roberts fled on foot, but police could not locate him.

On Friday, the Sheriff’s Office and Moscow Police received information that led authorities to find Roberts at the Palouse Empire Mall, where he was arrested.

He was booked into Latah County Jail for suspicion of felony eluding, being in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
