The Moscow Police Department responded to multiple reports of gunshots early Thursday morning in north Moscow but could not find any suspicious activity.
Capt. Anthony Dahlinger said the calls came in shortly after 2 a.m. and 4:20 a.m. in the area of Public Avenue and Orchard Avenue. Police scoured the area but could not find any criminal activity or the source of the sounds.
This is the same area where gunshots were reported Tuesday morning before police determined the gunshots came from hunters. People in the vicinity of Public Avenue and Orchard Avenue were temporarily ordered to shelter in place until police finished their investigation.
Dahlinger said those hunters were legally shooting outside city limits near Mountain View Park.
It is unknown if Thursday’s gunshot sounds were from hunters, too.
