Spending much of her life as a single mother of four children, Terry Harris, Kathie Finch, Doug Harris and David Harris, she was fierce and capable of providing and guiding in all of the ways needed to bring up generations through them. Charlotte Harris, of Eagle and Moscow, died of natural causes Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023. She was born in Kansas in 1936 to Nellie McClay and Oscar Brannan.
Married to Clifford Harris, a U.S. Air Force Second Lieutenant Pilot, they were stationed in Japan, Nebraska and many Southwest states where she loved to talk about attending formal events in beautiful gowns she hand-made. Though she loved sewing, spoiling her pets and embroidery.
Charlotte’s favorite role was that as a grandmother, she treasured her time with the grandkids and loved being their Mimi, with all the pink spearmint candies, nail painting and crafting along the way.
She took great pride in doing a job right and to perfection. From teacher’s assistant, house cleaning, electronic assembly to property management. Charlotte was passionate about sewing and all things textiles. She used these skills throughout her life — from making her first granddaughters’ wedding dresses to making alterations for her friends at Creekside Seniors.
Charlotte had an enduring trust in God, as a Christian, and was a pillar of faith in her family and community. She had a strong conviction and a powerful relationship with Jesus that blessed and enriched her life and the lives of others. Charlotte will always be remembered for her small stature and big personality. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cliff, all five siblings, daughter Kathie Finch and grandson Josh. She is survived by her sons Terry Harris, Doug Harris, David Harris and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Real Life of the Palouse in Eastside Marketplace in Moscow.
