Doris May Uhlenkott

Doris May Uhlenkott, 85, passed away Monday Feb. 5, 2024, at Prestige Care in Lewiston.

She was born May 29, 1938, to John and Blanche Geary, in Anaconda, Mont.

In 1955, she married Stanley Bennett. They had two children together, Gary and Barbara. Stanley later died in a trucking accident. In 1965, she met and married Wayne Obert. He later passed away during a hunting trip. In December 1971, she married Herman Uhlenkott, and they had a son together, Toby. Herman passed away in 2015.

In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed helping Herman with their cattle ranch. She also worked as a caregiver at different times during her life, mostly caring for the elderly. She enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends. She particularly enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great-grandson. When she could no longer live on her own, she moved in with her son, Toby, and his wife Laura. She enjoyed being involved with the Genesee Senior Citizens, going to their luncheons and playing bingo. Her last year was spent living at Prestige Care in the Lewiston Orchards. She enjoyed getting to spend time with friends at Prestige Care as well as participating in various activities they had.

Doris was preceded in death by her husbands, Herman Uhlenkott and Stanley Bennett; son Gary, sister Jean Perkins, brother Ed Geary, granddaughter Crystal and her parents.

Doris is survived by her daughter Barbara and Jeff Becker of Colton, son Toby and Laura Uhlenkott of Genesee; seven grandchildren: Val, Jen, Curtis, Oscar, Ty, Caleb and Stephen; along with one great-grandchild, Dawson.

Services will include the rosary recited at 10:30 a.m. and the funeral Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at All Saints Catholic Church, 3330 14th St., Lewiston. A luncheon at the church will follow.
