Dorothy Anna Martinson, 91, of Moscow died July 18, 2012, at Kindred/Aspen Park, surrounded by loving family members.

Dorothy was born on March 5, 1921, to Annabell and William C. Craig in Sheridan, Wyo. She attended Sheridan High School and graduated with her brother Clarence, in 1939. While in her senior year, she also received training in cosmetology/hair styling.

After graduation, she moved with her parents and two brothers to San Diego, Calif., where her father was a businessman. Dorothy worked as a hair stylist for a while, but then went to business college. She eventually worked in the office at Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego. She married Elfred Martinson and they worked together at Consolidated until he was drafted into the Army in 1944.

Dorothy raised five children and in 1954, she and Elfred moved to Moscow. Eventually, they were living in Aberdeen, Wash., where they owned the Travelure Motel. Dorothy returned to Moscow in 1997, where she could be close to family.

She and her husband were active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Elfred, and brothers Clarence and Jimmy. She is survived by her daughters: Shirley (Dave) Smith, Vancouver, Wash., Bonnie (Mark) Brainard, Moscow, Idaho, and Janice (Rand) Lewis, Worley, Idaho; son, Craig (Jenell), Deary, Idaho and Karin Larson, Moscow; 11 grandchildren: Tanya (Nick) Valison, Seattle, Wash., Jill (Mike) Vanderbunt, Glendale, Ariz., Darren (C.J.) Smith, Tacoma, Wash., Jenni (Tony) Waters, Moscow, Nathan (Kelsey) Larson, Salem, Ore., Kristina (Ethan) Ogden, Moscow, Beau Newsome, Moscow, Annie (Brandon) Johnston, Seattle, Marae (Scott) Carr, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Heather (Russ) Cosgrove, Coeur d'Alene, and Matthew Larson, Seattle; 17 great-grandchildren Larissa, Abrianna, Blayne, Tessa, Grayson, Peyton, Ryder, Kyle, Camryn, Kellen, Stella, Elizabeth, Anna, Lily, Alexandra, Charlie Rose and Jaxon.

Viewing will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, July 23 and 24. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25 at Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow. An internment service will follow at the Moscow Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to The Parkinson's Foundation or The Family Home Care and Hospice, Pullman, Wash.
