A memorial service for Everett Krasselt, 89, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Idaho Church of the Nazarene in Princeton. Pastor Kathy Lee Kramer will officiate at the service. Potlatch Post No. 10300 and the U.S. Army will conduct Military Honors. A private family committal service will be at the Freeze Cemetery. Mr. Krasselt died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at his home north of Potlatch.

He was born Guy Everett Krasselt May 19, 1923, on the family farm north of Potlatch to Frederick and Ella R. (Fessenden) Krasselt. He attended the Elmore Country School. Everett married Velma R. Strong Oct. 8, 1944, at the Elmore Church north of Potlatch. The couple continued to farm and ranch at the Krasselt home place until moving into Potlatch in 1974. Everett then worked as school bus mechanic and bus driver for the Potlatch School district for 23 years until retiring in 1990. The couple moved back to the farm home in 2010, where they lived with Wayne and Mildred.

Mr. Krasselt served in the U.S. Army from March 1945 thru July 1946 at the end of World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater and was discharged as a private first class in the 466th Military Police Company.

Everett was a lifelong member of the Elmore United Methodist Church, a member of Potlatch Post No. 10300 and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Everett enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Most of all Everett enjoyed and loved his family: his wife of 67 years, Velma Krasselt at the family home; four children and their spouses, Wayne and Mildred Krasselt of Potlatch, Mel and Marta Krasselt of Potlatch, Clint and Nancy Krasselt of Potlatch and Beverly and Boyd Hoidal of Troy; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; his sister, Martha McLain; numerous nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings and his son, Wendell Krasselt.
