James Melvin Carter died Jan. 27, 2013, at home surrounded by family after a short but brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a fighter!

Jim was born to Betty and Melvin Carter on Dec. 16, 1943, in Moscow. He graduated from Moscow High School. Most of his career was in the body and fender repair business; he loved his cars! He recently owned and ran Jim's Auto Body.

Married to Rita Dockter Carter who survives at the family home with their faithful dog, Wrecker, and the two cats that he loved, but don't tell anyone! Other survivors include sons Brian Carter and fiancee, Julie Ford, and Chris (Toni) Hites; a daughter, Leah (Les) Candler; grandchildren Tyler and Brianne Wilson, Samantha Candler, Bryce and McKenzie Carter, and Tristan and Rowan Hites; great-grandchildren Broc Williams and Ella Wilson; brothers and sisters, Nancy Carter, Rob Sinclair, Nola (Geoff) Colvin, Gregg Sinclair, Diane (Bill) Mabbutt; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Carter Sinclair; father, Melvin Carter; stepfather, Donald Sinclair; and sister-in-law, LeAnn Sinclair.

You will always be in our hearts.

At Jim's request there will be no funeral. A memorial for the family and friends will follow at a later date.
