Jean Carol Davis died Nov. 17, 2012, at Tender Care Home in Clarkston, Wash., from pancreatic cancer. She was born Jan. 26, 1924, at Pullman, Wash., to Roy H. and Gladys Truax Davis.
She graduated from Johnson High School in 1941 and in 1945 from Washington State College with a degree in home economics after which she held various jobs in the field of foods and nutrition. Further graduate work included a master's degree from Columbia University in 1954. In more recent years, Jean Carol was active in volunteer work in the Tri-Cities and Clarkston as well as the Dahmen Artisans Barn in Uniontown.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jesse T. and Shirley Davis on the family ranch near Colton; nieces Vida Jones, Potlatch, Idaho, and Kathleen Vogt, Vancouver, Wash.; and nephew John Davis, Pullman. Another nephew Roy J. Davis, Othello, Wash., preceded her in death.
At her request, there will not be a memorial service. It is her wish that any memorials be given to a park department, library or historical society of one's choice.
