Joan Diane Beedy, 78, of Pullman, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Pullman Regional Hospital.

Joan was born April 28, 1946, in Spokane, to LeRoy “Roy” and Wilda (Williams) Gontz. Joan grew up in Spokane and graduated from Central Valley High School.

On May 27, 1967, she married Gary Beedy, her best friend and soul mate, in Coeur d’Alene, at the Hitching Post. They made their home in Rosalia, Spokane and Otis Orchards before moving to Pullman, in 1977 when they purchased the NAPA Auto Parts store. Together they operated the store and raised their family. In 2008, they sold the business and Joan went to work at Shopko until its closure.

Joan loved her family and enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Joan had a green thumb and was an avid animal-lover, bird-watcher, quilter, scrapbooker and antique hunter. She enjoyed playing her ukulele and was a member of the UPOP ukulele group, as well as the women’s luncheon group in Pullman.
