Kurt EuGene McGreal, 49, longtime resident of Potlatch, and current resident St. Maries, Idaho, died March 3, 2013, at St. Maries.

Kurt was born July 31, 1963, at Moscow, Idaho, to Jack and Sharon (Schultz) McGreal. He attended school in Potlatch and graduated from high school there with the Class of 1981. After graduation, he started his lifelong career in the timber industry. He worked for Phil Fleener Logging, Walter B. Scott and Son's Logging and Hansen Logging (for 26 years). He then worked for Bennett Lumber and finally at Stimson Mill until his passing.

Kurt married Mary Minier on May 1, 2010, at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They made their home at St. Maries. Kurt was an avid outdoorsman. He loved nothing more than to be in the woods, hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He's remembered as a family man with a love for life.

Kurt is survived by his wife, Mary McGreal, of St. Maries; his mother, Sharon McGreal, and her companion, Paul Bunney, of Princeton, Idaho; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Dusty Leis, of North Dakota; his son, Jordan McGreal, of Pullman, Wash.; and his stepchildren Nicholas Gallagher of St. Maries, Randy Gallagher of Fernwood and Chandra Renner of St. Maries. Kurt is also survived by sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Tom Westacott of Garfield, Wash., and brothers and sister-in-laws Kent and Dana McGreal of Harvard, Idaho, Kelly and Candi McGreal of Potlatch and Keith and Heidi McGreal of Fernwood, Idaho. Also surviving are two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack P. McGreal.

A Celebration of his life will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Princeton Nazarene Church, State Highway 6 South, Princeton, with Rev. Kathy Kramer officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow services at the church. His ashes will be placed at the Potlatch City Cemetery directly after the services.
