It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, Mary Ann Lynch, who passed away on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at the age of 94.
Born on Aug. 9, 1929, to Helen Robertson and C. H. Robertson, at Judith Gap, Mont., Ann grew up on a ranch at the foot of the Little Belt Mountains where her very earliest memory was hearing the singing of the Meadowlarks.
Ann and her family moved to Harlowton, Mont., when she was 10. She was very proud to have been the editor of the high school newspaper in her senior year.
Ann attended Montana State College in Bozeman, Mont., and joined the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. In her sophomore year at MSC, Ann met her husband of 42 years, Dick Lynch.
Ann and Dick raised four children: John (Dicky), Jack, Mary Kay and Valerie. Ann was an ordained Presbyterian deacon.
After moving to Lake Oswego, Ore., Ann received a certification in Nursing and worked several years in resident-care nursing.
Ann’s heart always held a place for each child, grandchild, great-grandchild, nephew and niece and could tell you with pride what each family member was up to — their joys, challenges and accomplishments.
Ann moved to Pullman in 2018 to be near her daughter, Valerie. It was here, amongst the Palouse’s rolling fields and Meadowlark song — so reminiscent of the farmland around Judith Gap — that Ann found her rest.
Ann is survived by her children John R. Lynch, Jack R. Lynch, Mary Kay Gehring and Valerie J. Lynch-Holm; her four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.
A private service will be held for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Washington Talking Book & Braille Library in memory of Mary Ann Lynch.
Corbeill Funeral Home of Pullman is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to corbeillfuneralhomes.com.
