She married Donald LaVerne Emerson Sr. from Albion on Nov. 23, 1947, and has been married for 68 years, living all but the last few years in Albion. Mr. Emerson (Dad) now resides at Glen Haven Homes in Pullman, and Frances Irene (Mom) has been at Bishop Place. Mom was an accomplished artist (oil painting) and loved crafting and gardening. She worked for a time as a meat-cutter at Dissmore's, but most of her life she spent her time as a homemaker taking care of the family. She so loved the Palouse and considered it to be God's country.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Jim) Noeldner of Hansville, Wash.; her son, Donald Emerson Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.; her five grandchildren, Kari Metzger, Kelly Suhr, Shane Emerson, Teresa Green and Malynda Emerson; as well as eight great-grandchildren. A family gathering will be planned for a later date. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman is caring for the family. Online condolences may be sent to www.kimballfh.com.
