Maureen Lynn Cullen, 57, formerly of Moscow, died Friday, April 1, 2016, at her home in Portland. Ore., after battling cancer off and on for several years. She died in as much comfort as possible with her loved ones present and holding her hands until the end. Those of us who knew her know that, though far too soon and terribly unfair, it was the way she would have wanted to go.
Maureen was a longtime resident and nurse in Moscow from the late 1980s until 2008 when she moved to Portland. In Portland she continued her nursing career and at the time of her death had been a nurse and a teacher of nurses for 36 years. She devoted her life to helping others and bringing comfort and care where it was needed the most and every day had a positive impact on those around her.
Maureen is survived by her two sons Eric and Ivan; her husband, Doug; and her two lovingly spoiled terriers, Betty and George.
Memorial services are being planed for June in Moscow and May in Portland, details of which will be posted to her Facebook page.
